It's great to see many people taking an interest in their family history and pulling out those wonderful old photos that have been buried in a box at the back of a cupboard somewhere. I can help bring these photos back to life and provide you with a digital copy that will ensure these images live on through the next generation. By scanning and restoring your old photos I can help you tell the story of your parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents and pass these on to your children and grandchildren.

What happens to my photos?

Depending on the size of your photograph I will either scan, or digitally copy your picture. Working on the digital image, I will remove as many blemishes and scratches as possible without detracting away from the detail of the picture, and enhance the colour and contrast where necessary to bring faded photos back to life.

What if my photo is ripped or torn?

Often it is possible to reconstruct small areas of an image that are missing (such as torn edges) or large blemishes where detail has been lost. However this depends on the degree of damage and can only be assessed by looking at the picture in question.

What do I get?

One replacement print (up to 6x8") is included in the cost of restoration. Larger prints or extra copies are available at additional cost. You will also receive a digital copy of your photos on CD.

How much does it cost?

This depends on the original condition of your photographs and the amount of editing required. The minimum cost per image for restoration or retouching is $20. The following is a rough guide:

Minor restoration ($20)	Adjust colour/contrast and remove minor blemishes
Moderate restoration ($40)	Adjust colour/contrast and remove blemishes, scratches and creases
Major restoration ($60+)	Adjust colour/contrast, remove major blemishes, scratches, creases, reconstruction of lost detail
