About Dayle

Dayle Green has been involved in the management of the natural environment of New South Wales for over 20 years.  She began her career with the Department of Water Resources providing support for wetland mapping and inventories, and environmental impact assessment.

During 8 years as a Wetlands Officer she travelled widely throughout the Murray-Darling Basin and South Coast mapping wetlands, collecting data and reporting on their ecological character and condition.

She completed specialised projects that have made important contributions to the determination of environmental flow requirements for wetlands on the Murray River, and for the Lower Darling River.  She also provided scientific support for development of the NSW Wetlands Management Policy.

In 1998 Dayle moved into the emerging field of environmental flows and water planning.  As a hydrologist for the South Coast Region of the Department of Land and Water Conservation she played a critical role in the  development of water sharing plans for the Kangaroo River, Coxs River and Sydney Metropolitan Area.

In 2007 Dayle completed a Graduate Certificate in Journalism which focussed on news writing, research and the ethics of journalism.

She then commenced a 12 month role as a Dissemination Officer with the  NSW Environmental Trust.   Here Dayle was able to combine her environmental and writing interests through the production of 22 case studies and launch of a new e-newsletter for the Trust.
